How it plays
Two players take turns placing their mark on a 3×3 grid. Three of your marks in a row, column or diagonal wins; a full grid without a line is a draw.
You can play alone against a computer opponent, with a friend on the same device, or in multiplayer. Winning games unlocks extra features and skins, and there are leaderboards.
The rules take seconds to learn. Most of the interest is in spotting a threat one move before it happens.
Controls
- Place a mark
- Click a square
- Phone and tablet
- Tap a square
Tips
- If you move first, the centre or a corner gives you the most ways to make a line.
- Before every move, check whether your opponent already has two in a line and block it.
- Try to create two possible lines at once; your opponent can only block one.
- Against a strong opponent a draw is a normal result, not a failure.
Good for, and what to weigh
Good for
Good for all ages, very short breaks and two people sharing one screen. Less good if you want depth: a well-played game usually ends in a draw.
What to weigh
– Poki shows ads on its game pages.
– Skins and unlocks are cosmetic.
– The board is small, so long sessions can feel repetitive.
Quick answers
- Can two people play on one device?
- Yes, there is a local mode as well as single player and multiplayer.
- How do I place a mark?
- Click or tap an empty square.
