How it plays
Each race drops you onto a track with rival cars ahead. The goal is to pass them and finish high enough to reach the podium.
Steering is done by leaning left and right. Coins collected during races pay for upgrades, and boosts can be used at the moments you choose.
Races are short, which makes it easy to retry a track after a poor finish.
Controls
- Lean left
- A or Left arrow
- Lean right
- D or Right arrow
- Phone and tablet
- Poki lists keyboard controls only; follow the on-screen hints
Tips
- Save a boost for a straight where you can pass more than one car, not for a corner.
- Pick up coins when they are on your racing line, but do not swerve across the track for them.
- Spend coins on upgrades between races; they make later tracks noticeably easier.
- Small, early leans are safer than big late ones when you are close to another car.
Good for, and what to weigh
Good for
Good for short, arcade-style races with no learning curve. Less good if you want realistic driving or racing other people online.
What to weigh
– Poki shows ads on its game pages.
– Poki's page was last updated in January 2021, so do not expect new tracks.
– The controls are deliberately simple; there is no manual throttle or braking to master.
Quick answers
- What are the controls?
- Two keys: A or Left arrow to lean left, D or Right arrow to lean right.
- What are coins for?
- They buy upgrades for your car between races.
